10 Storage Solutions For Small Spaces

bunk bed storage

If you live in a small home or apartment, it can be challenging to figure out where your items will live or how to effectively store things that aren’t being used in the day-to-day. If you’re a parent, this can be even more difficult as you need to have multiple sizes of clothing as your child(ren) grow and/or toys, strollers, carriers, cribs, beds, etc.! Finding storage solutions for small living spaces is tough, but here are a few ways to improve your home organization and make room for the items you need.

Add Custom Shelving

One great way to add more storage space to your home (without spending a lot of money) is to add custom shelving and storage space to the walls. You can DIY this by adding affordable shelves, hooks, floating shelves, or cabinets to walls where you need a bit more usable space. It’s also a good idea to take advantage of vertical areas and build up!

Create A Custom Garage

A custom garage can be a great way to add more storage space to your home. You can have a A custom garage design will fit your needs, and you can choose from a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic. You can also choose from various colors and finishes to create the perfect look for your home.

Install Custom Workbenches

If you’re low on space, one great way to gain a little extra storage is to install custom workbenches with bins for organizing tools, nails, screws, etc. This will not only give you a place to store your tools and materials, but it will also make them easily accessible when you need them.

Storage Cubes

Storage cubes are a great way to get more storage without taking up a lot of space. You can use them to store items that you don’t use very often, like seasonal decorations or holiday gifts. In addition, you can store smaller items that tend to get lost in the shuffle, like games, puzzles, or tooys.

Unused Spaces

If you have any unused spaces in your home, such as above your door, on the sides of your cabinets, add shelves to them! This is a great way to utilize vertical space and create extra storage.

Use Hanging Racks

If you don’t have a lot of closet space, consider using hanging racks to store your clothing. This will free up some floor space and make it easy to find what you’re looking for.

Baskets

Hanging baskets on the walls is a great way to organize small items and keep them out of sight. You can use them to store anything from toiletries to kitchen supplies.

Tension Rods

Consider using tension rods to create extra storage space if your cabinets are overflowing. This is a great way to store pots and pans, sheets and blankets, or any other item that doesn’t have a lot of room in your cabinets.

Under Your Bed

If you have a lot of unused space under your bed, consider using it to store some extra items. For example, you can use plastic under-the-bed bins or boxes to store everything from clothes to toys.

Attic Or Basement

If you have an attic or a basement, consider creating a storage area in one of them. This is a great way to store large items that you don’t use very often, like holiday decorations or furniture.

Time To Get Started:

There are many storage solutions for small spaces (that won’t force you to spend a lot of money or be too challenging that you can’t DIY). The trick is to figure out the best areas in your home and take advantage of them, as well as vertical space. Remember that your home is unique and there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to organize it, as long as it works for you and your family!
